It is believed that Shri Ram had worshipped Lord Shiva with the Bilva Patras (a type of leaves specially used to worship Lord Shiva) on the banks of river Narmada, hence the place is known as Bilvamark pilgrim. The holy confluence of river Kubja is near to this place.
