Earlier, it was the capital city of Nishadraj Guha. Presently, it is known as Singrore and is situated on the banks of river Ganga. The distance from Allahabad is about 20 km. towards the north. The Kevat episode happened at this place. Several other places connected to Shri Ram's exile journey are located in the near by areas. Some of them are: Sandhya Ghat, Ramshaiya, Vipassana, Shri Ram Charan Paduka, Bharat Dera and Jata Vraksh etc.
