A place called Mehsrool is located at 4 km north of Panchavati. There are two ponds (Sarover) which exist at this place which are known as Sita Sarover and Ram Sarovar. It is believed that they both used to have bath in these ponds. The large fairs used to be held at this place before the period of 1975 emergency.
Goswami Tulsi Das had described in Manas 3/13/1 to 3/16/1 about the residing period of Shri Ram in Panchavati. He had altogether described about Sita Sarovar, Ram Sej Parvat, Kushaavrat Teerth, Ram Kund and Rameshwar Patauda. All these places had described in various shlokas by Valmikiji
