Soil for making the Vivah Vedi ( the ritual wedding platform on which yagna was performed) of Shri Ram and Sita was taken from this place. Even today, in Mithila for making Vivah Vedi the soil is taken from this place. Shri Ram and Sita were incarnations of Narayan and Laxmi. It is at this place, where Nepal's famous Hindu monastery " Laxmi Naryan Math" is located.
